The first edition of Rhizoma, a black & white photocopied zine, draws from Nevin’s interactions with both the Chinese and Korean punk scenes in late 2005. It includes interviews with Beijing bands the Believers and End of the World, along with Korean tape-label Musiro Records. There are write-ups of releases by TAM 89 Records, and an extensive review section of Korean zines. The issue also includes an illustrated DIY silk-screening guide to help you get started on your own patches or band t-shirts. Readers curious about the Chinese and Korean scenes, or fans of simple cut-and-paste zines, will find this an interesting and personal document of times gone by.
