Sick Times

Based in: Dresden, GERMANY
For fans of: Circle Jerks
(1997 – present)

Roving punk party Sick Times kicked off in Dresden, Germany in 1997 when friends Vullmie (lead singer) and Kief (original drummer), whose punk roots included stints with well-known acts like SKRÄCK and Spit On You, formed a band dedicated to fast ‘80s style hardcore. After a series of lineup changes, including the departure of Kief, Vullmie recruited friends Zippi (former drummer for Command and Control) and Matti (the Shoemakers and Volt Ghosts) to complete the power trio.

Sick Times released a split-vinyl LP in 2008 with East German comrades Screwed Up, and a self-titled vinyl full-length in 2010 on their own Zgonani Records. Meanwhile, they’ve continued to be active in the German, Italian and Eastern European scenes, taking their beer-fueled bacchanal to every shitty little town with a stage and a tap.

More recently, they set their sights on the east, releasing a split with Chinese street-punks Gum Bleed on Genjing Records in preparation for a fall 2012 tour of China – their first, but hopefully not their last.
